A person’s body language while on a date, or any other situation, is one of the tell-tale signs of knowing how a person feels around you. On the next date, be on the lookout for the following tell-tale signs:
1. Facial Expressions
While it might seem obvious, checking someone’s face is one of the best ways to tell how they feel. In most cases, people simply cannot hide how they feel about a given situation, and if your date is not necessarily looking to see you again, you can tell by just looking at their face.
Natural smiles, Flushed cheeks, and eye contact are all great signs. In case your date looks bored or is forcing facial expressions, then you might not want to have a second date.
2. Eye Contact
Similarly, eyes are also important tell-tale signs. They are often referred to as the windows to the soul, and for good reason. If your date keeps making eye contact with you throughout the night, you’ve got a winner on your hands.
While maintaining eye contact can be awkward for some people, it’s often a good sign when someone can’t take their eyes off you. If you’re telling a story, or just chatting about how good the meal is, be sure to pay attention to your date’s eyes – even if they’re busty – never look down. If they are looking back at you, it should be a good sign.
3. The Smile
Of course, the smile is another part of the face you should always look at. Many people have perfected the “being nice” smile or laugh, however, it’s quite easy to tell when someone is genuinely smiling. If you are making your date smile, take this as a good sign, especially if they are smiling a lot. Be sure to look for moments when they can’t help but smile. These are golden.
4. Leaning In
Leaning close to someone is a good sign, even when it’s not done romantically. Have you ever realized that you sit close to your close friends when you’re out eating, at the movies, or hanging out in the house? Leaning usually comes completely naturally when you are completely comfortable around the people you’re closest to, no matter the situation.
The same rules apply while on a date. If you’re sitting across from each other, but one of you is avoiding leaning in to hear the other person better, it might not be a good sign. If your date is leaning in to hear what you’re saying better, or just to be flirty, it’s a great sign!
5. Simple Touches
If you’re in the movies together, at a crowded bar, or at a restaurant, look for the moment he/she touches your knee, shoulders, or hand. If you’re on the first or second date, your date might not be comfortable making physical contact yet. This is okay! But if you two are hitting it off and he/she reaches out for your hand or shoulder to, say help you through the crowd, then things are certainly looking up.
It is said that touch comes before sight and speech… it always tells the truth.
6. Hair Play
When a woman is playing with her hair, it means she’s likely distracted or nervous. One of these is better than the other. While men generally don’t always have long enough hair to play with, when a man is running his hands through his hair, then this could be a good sign. Either way, nervously fiddling with one’s hair is a good sign that you are having a good effect on your date.
7. Crossed Arms
While some people don’t know what to do with their arms when talking to another person, crossing arms is usually not the best sign when it comes to romance. Crossed arms typically represent disappointment, anger, or simply being uncomfortable. If you’re comfortable around a person, or when you’re comfortable at a given location, your arms will likely not be folded as often.
8. Walking Style
When walking from the restaurant or the movies to your car following what you see as a great first date, don’t forget to look at how your partner walks. If he or she walks right next to you, and perhaps even reaches out to hold your hand, you’re doing great. On the other hand, if your partner walks slightly behind you or ahead of you, your coordination doesn’t speak strongly of how you actually feel about each other. You should strive to have them walk right beside you.
9. Check the Eyebrows
Eyebrows are more than just a feature of enhancing your face. In many cases, they are a good signal of how someone is feeling about the other person. In case a person’s eyebrows are turned downwards, they are most likely concerned about something. If their eyebrows are lifted, they are likely surprised and interested in what you are talking about.
The eyebrows are an interesting part of the face. Ensure that you pay attention to them for more insight into how interested your date is in what you are saying.
10. The Feet
If your date has his or her feet pointed toward you, they might be attracted to you or what you’re saying. They say that the feet are controlled by the subconscious mind. As such, if your feet are pointing toward a person, you are comfortable being in their presence or while close to them. It has been suggested that a person’s feet follow their heart. So pay attention to where your partner’s feet are pointing, but to where yours are as well.
